Happy Friday everyone! Today I thought I’d tell you about a little game that I used to play. Any time I’d walk into a store with the intention of only browsing the sale section, often hidden in the back, I’d spend some time perusing the store. I’d check out the newest additions, listening to the sales associates while they explain the benefits of a store credit card I had no intention of opening.  I’d smile, inquire about the price of an item and hope it’s still there in a few weeks time…in the sale section. The thing is, I used to play this game because I felt a little guilty walking into a store with the intention of only purchasing sale items.  I thought that the least I could do would be to at least consider purchasing a full priced item when really, all I want to do was to score a good deal because #Imnotasocialite.

It took some time, but I’ve talked myself out of this silly little game.  I’m on a budget and can score some great deals at some of my favorite retailers when I shop the sale section and there’s no shame in that.  I now have no trouble marching straight to the sale section. I know what I want and needn’t waste their time and mine pretending.  I of course greet sales associates but politely decline when they begin to discuss opening a store credit card or making suggestions about which full priced items I should purchase.
