Happy Friday everyone! Since summer is officially upon us, I thought I’d share with you some of the shows that typically fill my DVR waiting to be watched. Summer programing was once filled with re-runs. In recent years, networks are now filling the airwaves with original summer programing to rival those of the Fall and Winter seasons. While I don’t spend much time watching tv during the warm and beautiful summer days, these are the shows I click play on when needing a break for summertime activities.
Master Chef (Season 6) – Wednesday’s, 8/7c on Fox
Master Chef has become one of my favorite shows on television. I love the combination of competition and food. I enjoy rooting for the contestants and thinking of what I would whip up in their position.
America’s Got Talent (Season 10) – Tuesday, 8/7c on NBC
I love this show simply for the great family friendly content. I’ve watched it with my younger brother since season one and love it for its unadulterated fun. This is a great show to watch with family (or on our own) to unwind.
Orange Is The New Black (Season 3) – Full Season out on Netflix
I’m sure many of you have binge watched a weekend away with the ladies of Litchfield since the season 3 release of OITNB on Nextflix two weeks ago. If you haven’t had the chance to do so, then cancel all plans this weekend for some quality time with Red, Crazy Eyes and the rest of the ladies of Litchfield.
Rookie Blue (Season 6) – Thursday’s, 10/9c on ABC
I’ve loved this summer staple since the first season in 2010 and make sure to set my DVR for each episode. While Rookie Blue isn’t much different from other cop shows out there, I’ve become invested in the young characters and solid acting. Check it out if you haven’t already done so.
Odd Mom Out (Season 1) – Monday’s, 10/9c on Bravo
I have yet to see an episode of Bravo’s inaugural scripted series but have set my DVR to record every episode after seeing a few hilarious trailers and reading some great reviews (it received an 81% rating on Rotten Tomatoes). Written by Jill Kargman, the 10 episode season is said to be filled with laughs as the main character, Jill Weber, attempts to navigate her new life as an Upper East Side resident taking audiences along through each hilarious experience. I can’t wait to binge watch this show!
