Under The Weather

I found myself home sick for a few days a couple of weeks ago and although there wasn’t much I could do to expedite the recovery process, making sure I was relaxed and comfortable certainly helped in the recovery.  Here are a few simple things I enjoy when feeling a little under the weather.

Tea, lemon and honey

Green Tea with Lemon and Honey

For the boost in Vitamin C, soothing properties of honey and high levels antioxidants from green tea, I like to begin my mornings with a cup of green tea, lemon and honey when sick.  Not only is this combination a great way to relax and stay hydrated while ill, each cup does well in providing my immune system with a much-needed boost (read this post to see why I love starting my days off with a cup of warm water and lemon).  For a little variation, I like to add grated ginger to my afternoon cup.

Fuzzy Socks, Blankets and Comfy Pajamas

If you read my stocking stuffers post, then you’re well aware of my love of fuzzy socks.  A staple during the cold winter months, I particularly like to pull these out to keep me warm and cozy when home sick no matter what season it is.  When paired with a nice set of pajamas and a plush blanket, it’s sure to keep your body temp at a warm and cozy level.  Old Navy has great options for comfortable and cute pajamas while these blankets from Barefoot Dreams found at Nordstrom and Target’s Threshold brand would look great in any home.

Netflix Marathon

Having the ability to binge watch great programming thanks to Netflix helps me in feeling just a little bit better while coughing and sneezing my days away.  Everything from popular favorites such as Breaking Bad and Orange Is The New Black to Freaks And Geeks, Firefly and Bob’s Burgers, I don’t discriminate when it comes to binge watching Netflix shows while home sick.
