I’ve been researching strong blenders with which I can make healthy and fresh smoothies, soups, nut butters, frozen drinks and desserts for quite some time now. I’ve read hundreds of reviews, watched numerous Youtube videos, compared side by side photos and visited many stores to get a feel for each blender in an attempt to make the best decision. From Blendtec and Vitamix to Nutirbullet and Nutri Ninja, I’ve reviewed and compared them all and I’ve come to a conclusion.
During my weeks of comparison shopping, I came across the latest addition to the established Vitamix brand, the S55 Personal Blender. This is their second in the S-Series which combines the high-performance of their well-known models with the ease and convenience of a personal blender. The S55 is a bit smaller, thus easier to store and perfect for those without counter space to spare. I was convinced by the 5 year manufacturers warranty (8 years optional for $75 purchase), 4 pre-programmed settings (smoothies, power blend, dips&spreads and frozen desserts), brushed stainless steel finish and the ability to easily transport my creations in a portable 20-oz container. While I’ve fallen in love with this blender, the $459 price tag leaves me a bit hesitant, making this a wish list item for the time being.

For those of you considering purchasing a Vitamix but are also hesitant of the price, the brand offers certified reconditioned blenders at a discounted value though the S55 is not among those listed.
