Happy Friday everyone! I love to pull out my espadrilles as the weather warms up and it becomes increasingly appropriate to wear them about town. These casual shoes were traditionally made of a cotton or canvas upper and the notable jute rope sole. They’ve come a long way since the original design and have received a bit of a makeover in recent years. With their increasing popularity, the traditional design has made way for modern interpretations featuring leather uppers, painted canvas, wedged heels and even gladiator inspired espadrilles. There are several options to compliment any ensemble yet the jute rope sole remains the defining characteristic. Below are a few great options for the season.
