I spent a week on vacation in New York city and loved every moment of it! While I’m back to the daily grind, I thought I’d recap my time in New York with you. For more on my week in New York, be sure to check out my Instagram and Twitter both of which are @atuesdayinapril and don’t forget to follow me on these platforms as well as Pinterest! My Week In New York CityI love visiting New York any chance I get.  While the city and its many entertainment options are an obvious draw, my biggest attraction to the city is that it’s home to many of the people I love. I was able to spend some time in Queens and Long Island for my cousin’s wedding but the majority of my time was spent on the island of Manhattan.  I was determined to explore the island, experiencing new activities and neighborhoods while revisiting some of my favorites.  Hello Manhattan!Unfortunately, the heat and humidity did not allow for as much exploration and outdoor activities as I’d hoped.  I planned on taking a bike ride through Central Park and walking across the Brooklyn Bridge again but the high temps and humidity won out and my plans were revised to included activities involving air conditioning (I do not fare well in humidity).  I did however make my way to the Cloisters, a museum (a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET)) and gardens located in Fort Tryon Park in northern Manhattan.

I’d never heard of the Cloisters, nor had any desire to explore beyond the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan where a good friend of mine lives. I’m so glad I did! The museum was great and the grounds beautiful.  I especially enjoyed exploring the grounds of Fort Tryon Park which was beautiful with lush greenery and lovely gardens.  I would highly recommend taking the time to visit this area on your next trip to New York.

Thank you so much for reading! Hope you have a great start to your week!
