Happy Friday everyone! Today’s post will be a little out of the norm but I can’t help but blog about my latest obsession and as I’m sure you’ve guessed from the title, I’m a newly minted fan of ‘The Walking Dead’…as of this week actually.
A few months ago, I attended a church service in which AMC’s hit show ‘The Walking Dead’ was used as inspiration for the new series. I mean, the church had a pretty elaborate setup complete with a post apocalyptic set and church goers acting as survivors scavenging around for food and supplies. I’d heard about the show many times before from one very enthusiastic friend in particular and knew of its critical acclaim and awards success. While I never had much interest in the show (due to its graphic nature), when the show popped up on Netflix about a week ago, I decided to give the first episode a shot.
I was horrified! Just as I suspected, the first episode was filled with blood, guts, crawling dead people, dead kids, and every other horror you could imagine. It was disgusting and yet I couldn’t stop watching!
In case you don’t already know. The show is DAMN GOOD! The story line is captivating, the actors good enough to carry a great script and the special effects are just excellent! I mean, I could go on and on about all the things that make this show so good but that would mean taking time away from season 2 so…if you haven’t already done so, you’re just going to have to watch it for yourself.
Thanks for ready! While my weekend plans were initially filled with good eats and great conversation with friends, my time will most likely be spent finishing season 2 of ‘The Walking Dead’. See back here on Monday everyone!
