Zara Leather JacketHappy Friday everyone! I recently spotted this beautiful leather jacket while browsing through Zara’s website and immediately fell in love! It should come as no surprise that I love a good leather jacket.  As a style blogger, I believe the purchase of a well made leather jacket (or faux leather if you prefer) is well worth the investment.  So much so that I was on the hunt for nearly a year before purchasing my first leather jacket in Rome, Italy.  So, when I saw this reasonably priced, undeniably chic and versatile version from Zara, I couldn’t help but fall in love.  It would make a great addition to any wardrobe but for now, it shall remain on my wish list.

Hope you have a great weekend and thank you so much for reading!

Happy Wednesday everyone! With a sudden and dramatic drop in temperature here in the Midwest, the impending arrival of fall seems much closer than expected and I must say that I’m not terribly disappointed.  It’s no secret that fall is my favorite season.  I love the cool crisp air and holidays but most of all, I love the fashion statements that are made during this season.
Favorite Fall JacketI’ve been looking forward to bringing a fall favorite back into circulation for some time.  I purchased this jacket last fall from Madewell.  It was an unexpected and lucky find (I purchased the last one in store which just happened to be in my size and greatly discounted) but one I was happy to add to my wardrobe.  I’ve been looking forward to bringing this jacket back into rotation and have been happy to do so during the cool Midwestern evenings we’ve been experiencing lately.

Thank you so much for reading!

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I found an old favorite of mine which has been to Europe and back with me.  Black+white striped dress wo beltBlack+white chevron dressDSC_0039

A few years ago I decided to embark on my biggest adventure yet.  In August of 2013, I bought a backpack, a camera, a plane ticket and made my way to Europe for a solo month-long backpacking trip (more about my trip to come in a future post).  It was one of the best decisions I’d ever made.  In true form, I overstuffed my backpack before traveling but one of the best things I packed was this black and white maxi dress.  I purchased it at Kohls a few weeks before leaving and packed it in case I needed a more formal dress than the others I was taking (you don’t really have much occasion for formal wear while backpacking in Europe).

I can’t tell you how many times I wore this dress or how many compliments I received in it.  It’s a simple maxi that elongated my petite frame and became my go-to when in need of an effortless and chic ensemble.  I’ve shown it worn in two ways today.  While the dress is great when worn without accessories, I love adding a simple belt to cinch in my waist and pull my look together.
