Happy Wednesday everyone! I took a lovely trip to NYC for my cousin’s wedding and a much-needed vacation a few weeks ago (read a snippets of my trip here and here).  Travel Recap New York WardrobeI was so happy to be back in one of my favorite cities spending time with some of my favorite people.  Unfortunately for me, the week I spent there was possibly the hottest New York has experienced all summer.  I’m the first to admit that I don’t do well with heat, particularly when it’s accompanied by high humidity.  I made a huge mistake by not checking the weather forecast before my trip and plan my wardrobe accordingly.  Fortunately, I packed several skirts, dresses and shorts and loved wearing this chambray dress on a casual day out.NYC mini shopping session

I didn’t plan on doing any shopping while in New York but I couldn’t resist this beautiful Banana Republic pencil skirt I spotted on sale.  I purchased the skirt for $15, originally $90, thanks to the greatly reduced price and additional 50% off discount.  The skirt is still available here but at a higher price point ($50).

Happy Friday everyone! For today’s post, I wanted to feature this simple yet chic ensemble I’ve been loving lately.  I purchased this Banana Republic chambray shirt dress a few months ago during one of their regular sales (one of the many reasons I love BR!). I’d been searching for a chic shirtdress for sometime and this one instantly caught my eye.

It was among the items I featured in this wardrobe wish list post.  It was on sale with an additional 40% off, making the total purchase price less than $40! I couldn’t pass up such a great deal. I’ve been pairing it with another Banana Republic sale find (belt) and either dressing it up with cutout booties or going for a casual feel with my favorite flats from Target.  This combination is chic, casual and put together and has been a great day-to-evening outfit.

Happy Wednesday everyone! On Monday’s post, I mentioned waking up quite early (6am!) to make my way to an Urban Outfitters sidewalk sale held each year in Ann Arbor, MI.  For 3 days in mid-July, the Urban Outfitters in Ann Arbor (my hometown) hosts a sidewalk sale in which clothing is shipped in from stores around the country to fill rows of racks and bins to the delight of consumers.  Over The Weekend :: Hometown LoveIt’s been a tradition to attend the sale with a good friend of mine (shout-out Rashida!) for the past few years in the hopes of nabbing the best deals.  While excitement for the sale has dwindled (since I’m no longer Urban’s target clientele), I still make an effort to stop by for the sake of the deal.  This year I was able to pick up 3 items for myself and 3 for my younger brother.
Urban Outfitters sidewalk saleThe total for my purchases would’ve been $305 but with an additional 50% off sale prices, I was able to purchase the items for a total of $35! Now that’s what I call a deal!
