With my renewed commitment to getting fit and staying healthy, I’ve been trying new ways to incorporate exercise in my day to day life. While choosing to take the stairs or park a little further certainly help, I’ve also found some simple and enjoyable ways to burn a few extra calories through out my day. These are 5 simple tips to burn 100 calories without needing to make a significant time commitment.
Smooch! ♥
Pucker up ladies and gents. Grab your SO and proceed to plant one on their lips. Two 10 minute make-out sessions each day amounts to approximately 100 calories burned (that’s 36,500 calories or 10 pounds a year!). This is a great way to stay connected to your SO and to add a little fun to your fitness routine.
Pump Up The Music!
Turn your music up and have a 15 minute, one person dance party. Not only will the continuous movement increase your heart rate and burn calories, the upbeat music will leave you with a positive attitude for the rest of the day. To make things a bit more interesting, I like to find choreographed dances to some of my favorite upbeat music on Youtube and try to imitate the moves. Now I’m not a dancer but this is a great way to have a laugh and burn some calories.
Climb Baby Climb
I realized just how out of shape I was a few weeks ago when I found myself out of breath while walking up a few flights of stairs at work. This really kick started my health reboot and has quickly become one of my favorite ways to burn calories. Just Not only is this a great way to burn a few calories.
Grab A Ball
I was a huge fan of basketball growing up. I recently found one of my old balls lying around and have taken to playing a quick game on the weekends. 15 minutes playing basketball, tennis or touch football easily burns 100 calories. I also quite enjoy challenging my younger brother to a quick game of HORSE. We’re able to spend some quality time together and don’t even consider it as a workout.
Simply Go For A Walk
And last but not least, take a brisk walk. A brisk walk a can burn 100 calories in 15 minutes! Grab your pup for a walk around the park or take a spin around the mall. Just be sure to leave your wallet at home so you don’t burn through your cash while burning those calories.
